The Governor’s STEM Scholars program, designed to immerse high-achieving STEM students in grades 10 through the doctoral level in New Jersey’s STEM economy and to retain that talent in the state, is accepting applications for the 2019-2020 class. Applications are available here and are due Friday, June 14.  This is a free, extracurricular program.

The program is an innovative public-private partnership among the Research & Development Council of New Jersey, the New Jersey Office of the Governor, the New Jersey Department of Education, the New Jersey Office of the Secretary of Higher Education, and private industries.

The program follows the academic year, starting in September and ending in May. The program’s four conferences take place on Saturdays, and students have the option of attending field trips that take place throughout the year to different STEM institutions. In addition, each student is part of a research project either as a team leader or as a researcher.
