Due to the pandemic, the NJSBA was not able to hold in-person interviews for the county school boards associations’ “Eighth-Grade Dialogues” this year, but the Association conducted video interviews with the students. The videos have begun airing on the NJSBA’s Facebook Live page.
“The students provide valuable insights into how they endured the pandemic,” said NJSBA Executive Director Dr. Lawrence S. Feinsod, who explained the significance of the project when the first videos were released on June 2. “Their comments are honest and heartbreaking at times. Kudos to everyone involved in this project, which captures the voices of young students sharing their experiences during this unique moment in history.”
In this latest release of interviews, eighth-graders from schools in Camden, Cape May, and Cumberland counties discuss their experiences on NJSBA’s Facebook page. Find the videos here for those counties.
In addition, the NJSBA is making available all of the eighth-grade dialogues in 23 videos that were filmed this year. To find your school, search for your county. Featured schools are listed at the start of each video. Here is where all of the eighth-grade dialogues may be found.
It should be noted that interviews were held between the end of February and mid-April. More videos from other schools in other counties will be posted in the weeks ahead.
