The annual NJSBA/NJASBO/NJASA Workshop Conference, taking place Monday, Oct. 22 through Thursday, Oct.25 at the Atlantic City Convention Center, is the largest professional development event for school leaders in New Jersey. School board members and charter school trustees may fulfill their mandated training requirements at Workshop 2018.

Governance I: New Board Member Orientation, will be offered on Monday, Oct. 22, and the Governance II, III and IV mandated training programs will be offered on the morning of Thursday, Oct. 25. School board members and charter school trustees may take advantage of the opportunity to fulfill their 2019 Governance II, III, and IV mandated training requirement early. Registration for Mandated Training at Workshop is not included with Workshop registration.

Governance III: Student Achievement School board members and charter school trustees in the third year of their first term in office.

Governance IV: Legal Update/HIB School board members and charter school trustees in the first year of a re-elected or reappointed term.

Additional In-Person Dates/Online Training Regional in-person training opportunities will be announced soon. Online mandated training for the 2018 cycle is currently available. Additional information may be found on the NJSBA Mandated Training web page.

Early Bird Pricing NJSBA is offering a special “early bird” group registration rate of $1,500 for up to 20 team members through June 30. The regular group registration rate of $1,600 will go into effect on July 1. Workshop registration and hotel reservations  must be handled by the school business administrator only.

Expanded Group Registration The group rate has been expanded to include up to 20 team members for one low price. Workshop 2018 will feature over 250 training programs and has something for every member of the district team, including school board members (who can earn Board Member Academy credits); business administrators (who can earn QPA, or Qualified Purchasing Agent, credits); superintendents; principals; charter school trustees and lead persons; school technology professionals; school facilities managers (who can earn CEFM, or Certified Educational Facilities Manager Professional Development, credits); curriculum directors; teachers and more. Team members can stay one day or all four days.
