The New Jersey School Boards Association recently entered into a partnership with Pure Edge, Inc., an organization dedicated to the research, investigation, analysis, and implementation of health and wellness programs in the education community.  

Through this new collaboration, NJSBA and Pure Edge, Inc. will develop 15 programs with a focus on social and emotional learning and wellness. The first programs in the series will be delivered virtually.  

“The social and emotional well-being of our students has always been a paramount concern. It’s become even more critical in light of the pandemic and extended school closings,” said Dr. Lawrence S. Feinsod, NJSBA executive director. “As schools begin to plan for reopening, NJSBA is pleased to enter this partnership which will provide information and training to our members at no cost.”

Upcoming Webinar on Thursday, June 25 at 11 a.m.  NJSBA will host a webinar featuring Pure Edge, Inc. Chief Executive Officer Chi Kim on the Neuroscience of Stress and Its Impact on SchoolsIn this interactive session, participants will learn the basic neuroscience of stress and learn strategies to address self-care for the adults who care for our children and young people. Register to attend 

A recent Facebook Live event also featured Chi Kim, who discussed Educator Wellness and the Impact of Stress. Prior to serving as the Chief Executive Officer for Pure Edge, Inc.Chi Kim was a California school superintendent as well as a former school principal, teacher, and leadership coach and has served as a program officer at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. She is co-founder of the Teaching Garden program that was adopted by the American Heart Association to support heart health through school gardens.
