Join I-STEAM specialists from the NJSBA and Rutgers University for a 90-minute session in which presenters will show how to connect theory to practice for design thinking, sustainability, integrative STEAM, and problem-based learning on March 22 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Participants will have an insider’s view of the classroom, seeing examples of design thinking and I-STEAM lessons that are relevant to students.
Two checklists will be provided: One for best practices for introducing design thinking, and another for navigating the components of effective I-STEAM curriculum, instruction, and assessment. There will also be a discussion about the impacts of these activities on student motivation, engagement, social and emotional skills, and engineering habits.
School board members, superintendents, and others included on the census may register themselves online for this training program.
Non-member district staff members may also register by clicking “Get Started” to create an account in NJSBA’s online portal.
You will receive an access link for the meeting via email prior to the meeting date.
