The Assembly Budget Committee and Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee will each hold two public hearings to receive testimony from residents on the Fiscal Year 2020 State Budget.
Both Assembly hearings will be held at the State House in Trenton. The first will take place on Wednesday, March 20, in the State House Annex, Committee Room 11, 4th Floor. The second is scheduled for March 27 at the same location. Both are slated to begin at 9:30 a.m.
The Senate committee will hold one public hearing in the northern part of the state and another in the south. Below are the details:
- Thursday, March 21, 10 a.m. at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Campus Center Atrium 150 Bleeker Street, Newark, NJ 07102.
- Thursday, March 28, 10 a.m. at Salem County Community College, 460 Hollywood Ave., Carneys Point, NJ 08069.
The NJSBA will be represented at all four hearings and plans to deliver testimony on March 27 and 28.
Anyone wishing to testify may register online or call the Legislative Budget and Finance Office at (609) 847-3105 to register by phone. Written testimony may also be submitted. Participants are asked to provide 20 copies on the day of the hearing.
Both committees will receive testimony from individual departments of state government and estimates of state revenues by the Office of Legislative Services and the New Jersey Treasurer following these public hearings. The dates for those hearings have yet to be scheduled.
