On Saturday, March 23, NJSBA hosted an interactive half-day session on “effective communication,” which focused on giving and receiving effective feedback, enhancing active listening techniques, and working with different communicator styles. Approximately 75 school board members attended the program, which took place simultaneously in three locations.

Vincent DeLucia, NJSBA educator-in-residence, addressed the session in Trenton. Dr. Bethany Summers, a veterinarian who is vice president of the North Warren Regional Board of Education and president of the Warren County School Boards Association, spoke at the central New Jersey meeting. Her topic was, “Rottweilers and Labradors — Working with Both (And Those in Between).”

The photos below show some of the school board members who participated in team building exercises during training sessions that took place in three regions of the state.
