Legislative leaders canceled a planned vote March 25 on a bill that would legalize recreational marijuana for adults 21 and older in New Jersey because they said the measure did not have enough support in the state Senate.

State Senate President Stephen Sweeney said the measure would be scheduled for a vote at some time in the future.

In its January/February 2019 issue, the NJSBA’s School Leader magazine examined how marijuana legalization affected students and school boards around the country in an article called, “Legalizing Recreational Marijuana: A Board of Education Perspective.”
