Take advantage of this opportunity to serve as a volunteer judge at one of the three regional STEAM Tank Challenge regional competitions on March 14, March 21, or March 27. The opportunity to serve as a judge is open to all school board members and educators who would like to hear students present their ideas and projects.
There are a few rules: No board member or educator can participate as a judge if your school or school district has a team competing in the contest. An interest in science and technology helps, but no formal training is required. STEAM Tank program directors will provide you with information about how to properly judge the contest.
The STEAM Tank challenge has attracted 657 team applications, with more than 2,500 students participating in the competition that is co-sponsored by the U.S. Army, with prize money donated by the PSEG Foundation.
For more information on how you can participate as a judge, please contact Jennifer Siehl, STEAM Tank Coordinator, at steamtank@njsba.orgor by phone at (609) 278– 5232 or (732) 742–0469.
