Christopher A. Hamler Jr., 51, of Asbury Park passed away suddenly on March 21, 2021 at the St. Luke’s Warren Hospital.
Chris graduated from Warren Hills High School class of 1988 and studied at Upsala College in East Orange where he played football. He was employed as a union organizer and education coordinator for Plumbers Local 24 in West Caldwell for 27 years.
Chris was a member and past president of the Warren Hills Regional School District school board. He was a member of the Franklin Township planning board. He coached many teams for his son and daughter, including The Blue Devils and Warriors baseball teams and many other Franklin Township teams. He was a founding member of the Jr. Streaks Football. He was a loyal and lifelong Jets and Phillies fan. He could often be heard yelling for, or at, either team.
In his spare time he loved most to spend time at the lake in Maine waterskiing and he was especially proud to be the lead singer in the Pulled Pork Band. Above all Chris cherished time spent with his family and friends.
He was a man who loved life and who loved all of the people in his life. In addition to his parents, Christopher A. Hamler Sr., and Bonnie “Carson” Hamler, Chris is survived by his loving wife Kristin “Fox” Hamler; a son, Austin Hamler; a daughter Morgan Hamler; his step children, Marleigh Hutson and her husband Tyler, James Fox, Julia Fox and his first grandson Callan Hutson. And numerous uncles, an aunt, cousins and in-laws.
Services were held on March 26 and March 27. Arrangements were handled by the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave. Washington, N.J. 07882. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chris’s name to the Chris Hamler Family Trust, and can be sent to Heverin Financial, c/o Jessica Fenner, 126 Belvidere Avenue, Washington, NJ 07882.
