Good news: The governor originally announced that educators would be eligible to get vaccinated starting on March 15. Last week, he said teachers and staff can schedule appointments and get COVID-19 vaccinations right away.
The state Department of Health confirmed the change on March 5.
School Board Notes first reported on the priority vaccinations for educators on March 2. The state Health Department said the change was made after President Biden said he wanted every teacher to get at least the first vaccine shot before the end of March.
School personnel should consult the state’s COVID-19 Information Hub for more information regarding registration and vaccination locations.
