The end of another school year is quickly approaching. Again this school year, the New Jersey Personnel Administrators Association (PAA) has provided a forum where school personnel administrators can receive and exchange information on legal and practical developments in the field.

This year’s in-person training has included an update from the state Department of Education on  higher education regulations for student teachers; an overview of new overtime rules; a seminar on workers’ compensation; training on employee leaves; Rice notice requirements, and school funding and labor law developments. These in-person training opportunities supplemented a very active online community that provides members with the opportunity to share concerns, ideas, questions and possible solutions with their fellow group members.

PAA took definitive steps forward in making sure school human resource officials have the support and information to continually improve their services to local school districts, making the year a success.
