The New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA) is sponsoring a recently added category in the Garden State Film Festival (the state’s largest film festival) called “New Jersey Hometown Documentary Short” (under five minutes) which is targeted specifically to student filmmakers. In this interview with the NJSBA’s Ray Pinney, Lauren Concar Sheehy, executive director of the festival, discusses the importance of the arts in education, and the valuable experience student filmmakers gain by submitting a “Hometown Documentary Short” to the festival.
