The New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE), in collaboration with the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA), aims to increase the number of educators recognized by the Governor’s Educator of the Year (GEOY) program, as it honors hardworking teachers and educational services professionals. This program promotes a culture that recognizes excellence, creates a sense of pride and brings public attention to the work of outstanding educators.

Please encourage the schools in your district to consider nominating exceptional educators.  Nomination forms are available online, and should be submitted through the school principal. Honoring conscientious educators pays for itself in dividends.

NJSBA supports this program by working with corporate partners to provide a “virtual gift bag” of free resources to each GEOY recipient. These free resources, such as educational support materials and/or technology resources, ultimately benefit students.
