On Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 10 a.m., the New Jersey School Boards Association, in collaboration with the New Jersey Education Foundation Partnership, will present an interactive webinar on ways education foundations can help school districts by providing additional funding. The webinar is free and registration is available online.
This webinar will provide a primer on the steps needed to create and begin operating an education foundation, a non-profit organization that raises funds to support public school programs. Participants will learn about the required IRS forms; how to create a foundation board; what foundation policies are needed; how the foundation and school district should collaborate; basics on raising funds and disseminating them back to the school district; and more. The webinar will also cover ways to reinvigorate a struggling foundation.
