When the NAEP test results – known as the “The Nation’s Report Card” – were released on Oct. 30, New Jersey’s students still posted some of the best scores in the nation.

However, the most recent National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) exams also raised some concerns. In New Jersey, 2019 fourth grade reading scores declined since the test was last administered in 2017, while eighth grade math scores remained the same.
