Three Monmouth County schools are being touted as models for a federal Green Ribbon Schools program that celebrates schools with safe, healthy, and sustainable school environments; nutrition and outdoor physical activity and environmental and sustainability education.
Tours are being offered next month of schools in Neptune and Asbury Park.
The New Jersey School Boards Association, the U.S. Green Building Council N.J. Chapter and N.J. Audubon have selected Green Ribbon schools in New Jersey to conduct tours so that best practices may be shared.
The Nov. 13 tours are scheduled as follows:
- 1 p.m.: George L. Catrambone Elementary School, 240 Park Avenue, Long Branch.
- 3:30 p.m.: Summerfield Elementary School, 1 Summerfield Lane, Neptune.
