The first-ever Virtual Workshop conference will feature over 100 live sessions, including programs on education during the pandemic, special events, networking activities, and an interactive exhibit floor. The sessions will be presented in partnership with representatives from New Jersey school districts, sharing best practices and lessons learned.
The event will take place from Tuesday, Oct. 20 through Thursday, Oct. 22, co-sponsored by the New Jersey School Boards Association, the New Jersey Association of School Administrators, and the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials.
“In over 45 years in public education, I’ve never missed Workshop, and this year, as a virtual conference, Workshop will provide a new and fascinating experience. The value of this premier professional development conference has always been unmatched. Today, the challenges presented to school leaders by the public health emergency make Workshop more critical than ever,” said Dr. Lawrence S. Feinsod, NJSBA executive director.
“The same high level of planning, effort and creativity is going into this year’s virtual conference,” he continued. “The Workshop 2020 program will offer training that is critical for school boards and administrators as they face the challenge of implementing an educational program and governing their districts during the pandemic.”
NJSBA’s Virtual Workshop 2020 will offer multiple tracks of live training sessions, all day, over three days. Sessions will cover digital and distance learning, equity, cybersecurity, cost savings, school finance and shared services, leadership, school technology, social and emotional learning, sustainability, integrative STEAM (science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math), board governance, policy and more.
It will also feature compelling keynote speakers and exciting special events. School board members will have the opportunity to earn NJSBA Board Member Academy credits toward board member certifications. Learn more about NJSBA’s Board Member Academy by visiting the NJSBA website.
In addition, NJSBA has been authorized to issue Qualified Purchasing Agent Credits for School Business Administrators, professional development credits for Certified Educational Facilities Managers (CEFM) and sustainability credits toward Sustainable Jersey for Schools certification.
365-Days of Conference Access for the Entire Team NJSBA’s Virtual Workshop sessions will be available to watch on-demand for a full year. Registrants may also access the virtual exhibit floor and all of the conference resources. Think of it as a full catalog of more than 100 hours of on-demand training for the entire team.
Registration NJSBA is offering a special group rate of $900 for up to 25 team members. That’s only $36 per person. The individual member rate is $199 per person. School business administrators must handle registration for their districts. Review the registration instructions before starting.
