The New Jersey School Boards Association is teaming up with Artists Alike Studios, the Garden State Film Festival, and Steven Van Zandt’s TeachRock initiative and Rock and Roll Forever Foundation to present the Workshop 2019 Film Showcase.
Artists Alike Studios and the Garden State Film Festival selected the best student films from their respective festivals to screen at the Workshop 2019 Student Film Showcase on the Exhibit Floor. Students participating in the film showcase will participate in a live, moderated question and answer session following the screening of their films. Film screenings will take place on both Tuesday, Oct. 22 and Wednesday, Oct. 23 in the Film Festival Theater on the Exhibit Floor. View the lineup on the Workshop website.
Workshop Film Showcase 2020 Please encourage the students in your district to submit entries to the Garden State Film Festival in the new “New Jersey Hometown Documentary Short” category. This category is reserved for works written, directed, and shot by New Jersey public school students. Films must be five minutes or less and must focus on some aspect of their hometown, which profiles an interesting person, place, time period or subject that is related to the arts.
To find “New Jersey Hometown Documentary Short, go here, and look for the column labeled “categories and fees” halfway down on the right. Go all the way to the bottom of that column and click on the “New Jersey Hometown Documentary Short” link.
