
Michael Vrancik, NJSBA’s director of governmental relations, retired effective Sept. 1. Vrancik joined the Association as a director in January 2006, after working for agencies including the New Jersey Treasury Department, the governor’s office, and the Casino Reinvestment Authority. He had also served as an assistant director in NJSBA’s Governmental Relations Department in the 1990s.
“We are grateful for Mike’s many years of service to NJSBA,” said Dr. Lawrence S. Feinsod. “The Association benefited from his dedication and his wisdom as well as his encyclopedic knowledge of the state budget and school funding formula, and New Jersey’s political landscape. We wish him health and happiness in the years ahead.”
Jonathan Pushman is New Director NJSBA has named Jonathan Pushman as the new director of governmental relations. He joined the staff as a legislative advocate in 2013. Prior to joining the Association, he was the head of the N.J. Motor Vehicle Commission’s Office of Intergovernmental Relations, and earlier was with the state Office of Legislative Services.
A graduate of Lafayette College, Jonathan holds a master’s degree in public policy from Rutgers University’s Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy.
“Since he joined the NJSBA staff, Jonathan has earned the respect of his colleagues, the NJSBA membership, and governmental decision-makers,” said Feinsod. “We look forward to his leadership of the Governmental Relations Department.”
