The National School Boards Association (NSBA) is now accepting nominations for its Magna Awards program, which recognizes school district innovation and creativity in helping to increase student achievement.
The 2019 awards program will focus on equity in education, and will recognize district programs that remove barriers to achievement for vulnerable or underserved children.
Three grand prize winners and 15 first place winners will be selected from each enrollment category: under 5,000 enrollment; 5,000-20,000 enrollment; and over 20,000 enrollment.
Three grand prize winners will receive $5,000 gift cards from DonorsChoose.org and will have their winning programs showcased at a special Master Class session during the NSBA 2019 Annual Conference, March 30 – April 1 in Philadelphia. All winning districts will be featured in the April 2019 issue of American School Board Journal.
The deadline for nominations is Oct. 31.
