The Sustainable Jersey for Schools grant program provides opportunities for public schools and school districts to implement sustainability projects. Two grant opportunities are now open through two different funders. Applications are due on Oct. 31, 2018.
The grant opportunities are:
- $180,000 in Funding for Sustainable School and District Projects: The New Jersey Education Association (NJEA), as a Sustainable Jersey for Schools program underwriter, is contributing $180,000 in grant money to fund sustainable projects at the school and district level. This grant cycle will award 10 $10,000 grants to school districts or schools and 40 $2,000 grants to support school green teams. - $150,000 in Funding for Municipal and School District Energy Projects: Funded by the Gardinier Environmental Fund, $150,000 in grant money is now available to fund energy projects focused on conservation, efficiency and renewable energy. For this grant cycle, Sustainable Jersey is offering $30,000 and $10,000 grants. More information about the grant program and details on how to apply can be found here.
