Chanta L. Jackson was elected as vice president for legislation/resolutions of the New Jersey School Boards Association during the organization’s semiannual Delegate Assembly on May 13, 2023.

She has been a member of the Neptune Township School Board for 11 years and served as president for the last two years. vice president from 2013 to 2017, and  as the superintendent search chair and Operations and Personnel Committee chair.

Jackson served on the Monmouth County School Boards Association as vice president from 2017 to 2018 and as vice president of legislation from 2016-2017.

She also served as the NJSBA Urban Boards Committee alternate delegate to the NJSBA board of directors, the Nominating Committee, and the Accountability Regulations Task Force. She has earned her Certified Board Leader designation through the NJSBA Board Member Academy.

She is a 25-year journalist and communications professional, working with all levels of government; a registered parliamentarian with the National Association of Parliamentarians since 2020 and a member of the Monmouth County Youth Services Commission.

Jackson attended the University of Maryland College Park, earning a B.A. in communications and Northwestern Maynard Management at Kellogg Fellowship.

She is the communications officer/registrar of the Asbury Park School District.
