Legislative Update: “Lame Duck” Wrap Up

The last few weeks on any legislative session – commonly referred to as the “lame duck” session – are an incredibly busy time at the New Jersey State House. And the end of the 2022-2023 session was no exception. Please join NJSBA governmental relations staff for a presentation on noteworthy legislation affecting school districts and students that has recently been signed into law, and several other measures that did not quite make it to the finish line, but could resurface as the 2024-2025 legislative session gets underway.

Fall 2023 Legislative Update

Over the last few months, the Legislature and the Murphy Administration have advanced several education priorities likely to impact school district programs and operations in the 2023-2024 school year and beyond. The NJSBA Governmental Relations team will provide information on new statutes and regulations affecting school districts, and a summary of other recent legislative developments. Staff will be available to answer questions on any recent activity and what we might expect as the 2022-2023 legislative session draws to a close.
