Historic Dover, located in northern Morris County and 2.7 square miles in area, is a suburban community with a lively downtown. The Dover Board of Education is proud of our Community Schools model, and we are proud to offer free, full-day Pre-K to all interested families. Our greatest pride, however, is our wonderful students. Dover Middle School has earned the distinction of NJ State School of Character.

The Dover Public School District educates 3261 students and operates with a budget of approximately $94m. Our District comprises five schools including, three neighborhood elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. We employ a staff of 344 certificated and 210 non-certificated professionals, with 35 administrators. Students from the small borough of Victory Gardens attend Dover Public Schools, and students from neighboring Mine Hill Township attend Dover Middle School and Dover High School.

Our next Superintendent will excel in and prioritize communication with our families, staff, and our entire community. We desire candidates who have experience in successfully implementing a strategic plan and who have a well-rounded understanding of NJ public school funding and finance. We are looking for a dedicated and forward-thinking leader who will help to propel our programs; who is excited by our students’ potential and our unique community; and who is enthusiastic about supporting our dedicated staff. We desire a strong leader who will look towards the future and provide our District with innovative programming and pathways to success—academically and in life—for all of our students.

NJ School Administrator certificate or CE, and teaching experience in any of the Pk-12 grades required; successful experience as a school principal and/or central office strongly preferred.
