New Grant Available – COPS School Violence Prevention Program (SVPP)

Designed for member districts looking to strengthen their school safety plans. , this program helps fund school safety technology, such as access controls, communication technology, and cameras needed to secure buildings and ensure the success of emergency plan management at K-12 districts.

The grant offers up to $500,000 in funding with a 25% cost match requirement. There is a two-step application process, with the first deadline on June 18, 2025, via Grants.gov, and the second on June 26, 2025, through JustGrants. More information about this grant program can be found here.

The NJSBA Grants Support Program helps members locate and access funding for essential services, professional development, classroom technology, and innovative projects. See below for a newly available grant.

Mandatory Training

New Jersey state law requires new school board members and charter school trustees to attend training within 90 days of taking office.

NJSBA offers a One-Day New Board Member Orientation on May 17, 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. – Register.

​This program will be offered in person at NJSBA headquarters in Trenton. This free opportunity will allow you to complete your mandated training requirements and also  share knowledge and connect with fellow school leaders working towards the same goals. Breakfast & lunch will be provided. Registration must be handled by your school business administrator. *Details for this event are subject to change.”
