On Dec. 11, the New Jersey Supreme Court ruled in favor of her family, affirmed an Appellate Court decision, and said that teachers were essential workers during the COVID-19 health emergency. As essential employees, they can seek workers’ compensation related to COVID injuries, the state’s top court said.
