Peter Bruseo, who served as a member of the Mine Hill Board of Education for more than 10 years, died July 17, 2026. He was 55 years old.

During Bruseo’s 11-year tenure, he served on numerous committees including buildings & grounds, finance, negotiations, personnel and policy, operations and public relations. He also served as a member of the Dover Board of Education and as liaison to Mine Hill Educational Foundation. Bruseo acquired his Certified Board Member certification in 2020.

For those who knew him, he was loved for his quick wit, incredible sense of humor and a legendary talent for practical jokes. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, at St. Mary’s Church, 425 W. Blackwell Street, Dover, New Jersey. Family and friends are invited to continue celebrating Bruseo’s life following the Mass at the Dover American Legion, 2 Legion Place in Dover, beginning at 12:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Eleventh Hour Rescue in Pete’s honor. Click here to read the full obituary.
