The virtual meeting of the Warren County School Boards Association on April 7.

New Jersey’s county school boards associations had a full schedule for spring 2020, including the much-loved student programs — the “Unsung Heroes”  and “Eighth-Grade Dialogue” programs. But that was before the COVID-19 pandemic closed schools and canceled NJSBA spring in-person programs.

But county school boards association members have continued to gather—virtually.  Each county association has either held a spring meeting or is scheduled to do so shortly. While student participation isn’t possible because of the school closures, meetings have included the content-rich programming that county school boards associations are known for. Members have heard updates from executive county superintendents and NJSBA staff members, discussions with state legislators, and board members sharing ideas and best practices with each other.

NJSBA thanks the county associations and local board of education members for their enthusiasm, hard work, and willingness to continue their own professional development as a board member during these difficult times.
