The White House initiative on advancing educational equity, excellence and economic opportunity for Black Americans housed at the U.S. Department of Education will hold a virtual roundtable titled “Breaking Barriers: A Systemic Approach to Support Black Student Mental Health” on Monday, Feb. 28, from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
The initiative established the African American Education Connector Roundtable Series to address gaps and opportunities for African American students and families, and to highlight programs, policies and practices that accelerate the learning and development of Black students of all ages.
Senior Adviser Monique Toussaint will host the roundtable, which will feature experts from the field to discuss culturally competent best practices that support the mental health of Black students. The roundtable will enable participants to have access to information, resources and best and promising practices from the U.S. Department of Education, other federal agencies and the field.
