Make smarter decisions by exploring the relationship between school leaders and staff during the next Wind Down session in the Empowerment Series — a new NJSBA offering.

Managing District Personnel and Performance Evaluations is scheduled for 7  to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 23. It is the third in the virtual Empowerment Series of Wind Down that kicked off in January and will end in July. Each session highlights different topics.

The online program is designed to provide public school district officials with practical guidance and best practices that they can apply in their leadership roles.

Managing District Personnel and Performance Evaluations will cover:

  • School staff decision processes.
  • Chief school administrator evaluations.
  • Board of education self-evaluations.
  • Superintendent and school board relations.
  • Labor relations and its policy impact on personnel.

During this session, school officials will hear from NJSBA’s Acting Deputy Executive Director Patrice Maillet, Educator-in-Residence Vincent DeLucia and other professional staff. Participants also will have the opportunity to participate in discussions with fellow school board members from throughout New Jersey.

The Empowerment Series is inspired by the well-attended Workshop 2021 “Wind Down” programs. NJSBA staff will host live breakout rooms to provide members with a chance to ask questions and have meaningful conversations with their peers. Members are invited to attend from the comfort of their homes and can participate across any smartphone, tablet, or computer with online access.
