The New Jersey Department of Education recently issued a high school voter registration statement of assurance  for school year 2021-2022 to help school districts, charter schools, renaissance school projects, nonpublic high schools and private agencies that provide educational services for high schools comply with the requirements of N.J.A.C. 6A:32- 14.2. The statement of assurance must be submitted to an executive county superintendent by June 30.

The SOA affirms that school districts, charter schools, renaissance school projects, nonpublic high schools and private agencies that provide educational services for high schools by means of public funds have complied with all the requirements of the High School Voter Registrations Law, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:36-27.

The High School Voter Registrations Law requires administrators to distribute voter registration materials, a summary of voter registration eligibility requirements, materials describing the role of a citizen and materials articulating the importance of voting to all eligible high school students prior to graduation.
