The New Jersey School Boards Association is hosting a regional program titled “3Rs: Roles, Responsibilities and Resources,” which is designed to provide new board members with important information they will need. The program will cover a variety of topics and will offer ample opportunities to ask questions and network with board members from other districts.
The program is designed to educate newly elected board members; however, it is informative and useful for established board members as well. Topics will include:
- The functions of a board of education.
- Board member responsibilities.
- Services available to you from NJSBA.
- Strategies and tips to survive and thrive in your first year of service.
There is no cost for board members to attend the program, which offers one Board Member Academy credit. All programs run from 7 to 8:30 p.m. with registration and light refreshments at 6:30 p.m. Those interested are encouraged to attend at the location most convenient for board members, regardless of district location. Registration is required.
