Education in the 21st century goes beyond textbooks and technology. A healthy dialogue between the administration and a board of education with respect to emotional, social, and behavioral health is becoming a necessary discussion. Our students may be affected with various symptomatic diagnoses such as OCD, ADHD, depression, anxiety, matters of self-esteem, etc. Not all children have the appropriate coping strategies or skills to balance school and various external factors. A board of education has the opportunity to take a hard look into this topic and become a catalyst for change.
