TRENTON, July 24, 2019 —The New Jersey School Boards Association today issued the following statement about the posting of offensive messages by a local school board member:

The New Jersey School Boards Association learned of the social media posts yesterday.

The content of the posts is offensive and does not represent the values and beliefs of our organization.

NJSBA is a service organization. It does not have the authority to remove an individual from local school board office. The individual who is accused of posting the messages is not an officer of NJSBA. He is one of 58 members of our Board of Directors.

Postings of this nature are reprehensible. This matter will be addressed as dictated by our Association’s bylaws.
