Workshop 2023 is approaching fast, with the excitement of four full days of professional development, networking and training growing stronger each day. As part of this year’s Workshop, board members from across the state can fulfill their mandated training requirements. More details and registration information will be announced soon.
Governance I is designed specifically for new board members in the first year of their first term. New Jersey School Boards Association staff will be there to teach you all there is to know about what it takes to be an effective board member, as well as answer any questions you may have. Governance I will take place on Monday, Oct. 23. Pre-registration is required (separate from Workshop registration).
Governance II is designed for board members in the second full year of their first term of service. This training program will highlight various topics in finance. Governance II will be offered in the morning on Thursday, Oct. 26. Pre-registration is required (separate from Workshop registration).
Governance III is designed for board members in the third year of their first term of service. This training program will touch upon student achievement. Governance III will be offered in the morning on Thursday, Oct. 26. Pre-registration is required (separate from Workshop registration).
Governance IV is designed for re-elected/reappointed board members in the first year of any succeeding term. This capstone program will feature a legal update from NJSBA staff for anyone looking to hear an update on school law. Governance IV will be available throughout the day on Monday, Oct. 23, Tuesday, Oct. 24, and Wednesday, Oct. 25. Pre-registration is required (separate from Workshop registration).

Group rates for registration and lodging are available now. School districts and their 25 team members can secure their spot at the conference for $2,200. Team members may include the school board, business administrator, superintendent, facilities managers, curriculum professionals, IT staff, principals, human resource professionals, educators and other district staff.
