The New Jersey School Boards Association will host a mandated training day on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023. This program will be offered both virtually and in-person. Training sessions for Governance I, II and IV will be available.
Governance I is designed for new board members in the first year of their first term. Governance II is centered around finance and is for members in the first term of their second full year of service. Governance IV provides a legal update and is for re-elected/reappointed board members in the first year of any succeeding term.
This free opportunity will not only allow members to complete their mandated training requirements, but to share knowledge and connect with fellow school leaders working toward the same goals. For Governance I trainees, a complimentary lunch will be available.
Governance I is a hybrid program, taking place virtually and in-person at NJSBA headquarters in Trenton. The program offers three Board Member Academy credits. Registration must be handled by your school business administrator.
Time: 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Registration begins at 9 a.m.)
Location: Virtual via Swoogo; NJSBA Headquarters.
Governance II and IV are virtual programs. Each program offers two Board Member Academy credits. Registration must be handled by your school business administrator.
Time: 10 – 11:30 a.m. (Governance IV).
12:30 – 2 p.m. (Governance II).
