Last week, New Jersey School Boards Association participated in a virtual hearing held by the Murphy administration to provide testimony on how remaining American Rescue Plan State Fiscal Recovery Fund dollars should be used.

NJSBA suggested four ARP SFRF investments to bolster school districts’ COVID-19 recovery and resilience: student mental health support programs; additional funds to offset extraordinary special education costs; support for goods and services most impacted by rising inflation and interest rates; and relief from expected increases in health care costs. Jesse Young, legislative advocate for NJSBA, spoke on behalf of the Association.

Additional details may be found in NJSBA’s full testimony.
