Comprehensive school districts, regional school districts or charter schools seeking to develop high-quality career and technical education programs can apply for a limited competitive grant initiative that provides up to $675,000, according to a memo from the New Jersey Department of Education.

The Building Capacity for Career Pathways in Comprehensive Schools (Cohort 2) grant is being offered to eligible schools serving grades 9-12 that do not currently have an approved CTE program or CTE program of study.

Grant applicants seeking to equitably improve student achievement, postsecondary, and career outcomes for their students would implement two CTE programs of study aligned to the New Jersey Department of Labor Key Industries.

The grant details are available on the Office of Grants Management webpage. Grant applications will be completed by using the Electronic Web Enabled Grants System accessed through the NJDOE’s Homeroom web portal.

The grant application must be submitted by 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022. A technical assistance workshop will be held via webinar at 2 p.m. Dec. 21, 2021. Preregistration is required by Dec. 17, 2021.
