The U.S. Department of Education is teaming up with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Rockefeller Foundation on Jan. 28 and Feb. 4 on a webinar from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. each day, to help schools and districts start or strengthen their school-based COVID-19 testing program.

The webinar will feature technical experts and school and district leaders who are regularly testing. Experts will answer questions such as:

  • Why is testing in schools important?
  • What should you know before you start?
  • What are some resources that can help you get started?
  • What is test to stay and how are other schools doing it?

The USDOE also reminded schools of new actions the Biden Administration recently took to increase access to COVID-19 testing in schools.

Through new initiatives, the administration will increase the number of tests available to schools by 10 million per month – more than double the volume of testing that took place in schools across the country in November 2021.
