There has been a great deal of research lately on the importance of sleep, especially for adolescents.

In an Education Matters video interview,  the NJSBA’s Ray Pinney spoke recently with Dr. Bert Mandelbaum about the impact of sleep deprivation on middle and high school students.

Mandelbaum is a pediatrician with Princeton Nassau Pediatrics and is chairman of the department of pediatrics for Penn Medicine Princeton Health. He is also a school physician with the Montgomery and Hillsborough Townships and is chair of the Task Force on Adolescent Sleep and School Start Times for the New Jersey chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
