On Feb. 23, the New Jersey School Boards Association held another successful Wind Down, a new monthly online event providing board members with important information and an outlet to discuss their challenges. The program is designed to empower them to thrive in their leadership roles.

With a focus on school finance, the latest session drew more than 50 attendees who moved between different breakout rooms that focused on specific finance topics. At the end of the program, attendees met back in a main room where they reviewed key points from their individual sessions.

Dr. Lawrence S. Feinsod, executive director of NJSBA, was on hand at the program to welcome attendees – and he had praise for President Irene LeFebvre. “President Irene is a friend, colleague and an important person to all of us – she has spent most of her adult life working for New Jersey and certainly for the township of Boonton and kids all over the state,” he said in his introductory remarks.

“This has really been a fantastic concept – the idea of the Wind Down at the end of the day,” LeFebvre said.

The next Wind Down will be Wednesday, March 23, 7 to 9 p.m.
