The New Jersey School Boards Association is proud to host an innovative statewide series on board leadership, spanning the regions of north, central and south New Jersey, with a focus on critical themes such as employment, finance and communication.

The second session in this series, taking place Saturday, March 16 at Salem Community College, will dive into the complex landscape of school finances and funding.

The format will offer a dynamic blend of large group sessions to foster collective learning, held both virtually and in-person. Board presidents and vice presidents will have access to two exclusively in-person tailored breakout sessions, ensuring targeted discussions and personalized guidance for leadership excellence.

Topics include:

  • How schools are funded in New Jersey.
  • Health insurance marketplace overview.
  • Understanding the annual audit.
  • Evaluating the chief school administrator.
  • Dual enrollment.
  • Tailored president and vice president breakout sessions.

This free program will have a virtual option for the large group sessions. The breakout sessions for presidents and vice presidents will be held in-person only.

This program will be held at Salem Community College in Carneys Point from 9:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. and offers three Board Member Academy credits. While this program is free, pre-registration is required. Please register here.
