The New Jersey Departments of Health and Education are inviting districts that do not already participate in the state COVID-19 screening and testing program to express interest by completing the online K-12 Testing Screening Program Survey  by April 1.

By participating in the program, schools can continue to provide a safe environment for in-person instruction. The program is voluntary for local educational agencies and nonpublic schools.

The screening and testing program was launched in July 2021 by the United States Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Disease Control.

There are two options available to LEAs:

  • Option 1: Allows LEAs and nonpublic schools access to testing resources such as test kits, diagnostic lab services, personal protective equipment and full turnkey testing services through state-vetted
  • Option 2: Allows LEAs to conduct their own testing either through a vendor or LEA staff and be reimbursed for $40.72 for each administered
