In accordance with federal requirements (20 U.S.C §1407(a)), the New Jersey Department of Education’s Office of Fiscal and Data Services announced in an advisory that it is making available the annual list of rules, regulations and policies involving special education that are state imposed, i.e., not required by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act or federal regulations.

The NJDOE is required to annually provide the list to the United States Department of Education and all local educational agencies. The NJDOE must also include the list with its annual application for federal funding.

The NJDOE’s Special Education website contains the updated list of State Imposed Rules, Regulations and Policies Not Required by IDEA or Federal Regulations.
