The New Jersey School Boards Association’s Spring School Law Forum is returning June 13, 2023. It will be held at the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association’s FEA Conference Center in Monroe from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Practicing school board attorneys will share research and their own experiences in addressing the latest court decisions, administrative rulings, statutes and codes that affect public education and school district governance.

Topics of discussion will include:

  • Annual Case Law & Legislative Update by NJSBA Staff.
  • Tenure Arbitration: Where Are We Now, A Historical Look-Back.
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging: Emerging Issues in DEIB.
  • ESL and Bilingual Education Regulations, as well as a discussion of Students with Interrupted Formal Education.
  • Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying Update: HIB Task Force.
  • Psychiatric Clearance for All Students and Special Education Update.
  • Statutory Employment Claims.
  • School Attorney Ethics.

The Spring School Law Forum has a member fee of $299 and a non-member fee of $598. This program offers three Board Member Academy credits and 7.2 Continuing Legal Education credits (pending).
