The Mine Hill Board of Education recently earned its Board Certification from the New Jersey School Boards Association. Board Certification recognizes the full board’s commitment to training and effective governance in areas such as decision-making, planning, holding effective meetings and focusing on student achievement. Pictured from left to right at the Morris County School Boards Association’s Nov. 3 meeting are: Bernadette Dalesandro, president of the Morris County School Boards Association; Katie Bartnick, a member of the Mine Hill Board of Education; Diane Morris, president of the Mine Hill Board of Education and a member of the Morris County School Boards Association as well as the alternate to the NJSBA’s board of directors for Morris County; Lee S. Nittel, superintendent of the Mine Hill School District; and Irene LeFebvre, NJSBA president. The Mine Hill board will be presented with a plaque honoring them for their achievement at a future board meeting.
