At the Hudson County School Boards Association on Monday, Nov. 21, at the Robert Menendez Elementary School in West New York, the Jersey City School District was honored for earning an Exemplary Program recognition in the 2022 School Leader Awards, which is awarded by the New Jersey School Boards Association. The district was recognized for its Fun Friday program, which provides innovative, inclusive activities for special education students, introduces them to community resources and activities, forms community partnerships, improves academic learning aligned to the New Jersey Student Learning Standards, fosters social and emotional learning and provides joy and fun via virtual monthly field trips.
