On Oct. 27, Gov. Phil Murphy signed S-3881, which extends the deadlines associated with annual audit reports for the 2020-2021 school year. In a normal year, school districts are to complete such audits by Nov. 30 and submit them to the New Jersey Department of Education by Dec. 5. This bill provides an additional two months for the 2020-2021 audits to be completed and filed, making the deadlines Jan. 31 and Feb. 5, 2022, respectively. Audit summaries for 2020-2021 are due to NJDOE by Jan. 4, 2022.
