Traditionally, the New Jersey School Boards Association has organized a trip to the Equity Symposium and Advocacy Institute training conference, held in Washington, D.C. by the National School Boards Association.

Due to the continuing controversy surrounding the NSBA, the Association has decided to “pause” the tradition. Instead, NJSBA will organize New Jersey-centered events that will facilitate engagement within the state’s congressional delegation, create opportunities to advocate for federal actions that will enhance public education and update board members about timely topics.

Plans are being made for the programs, which will feature opportunities to meet with lawmakers and key staff, sessions on how to effectively represent your district, and discussion and information on subjects such as educational equity.
